shoebox of tickets

By the time I was in my thirties I had a shoebox full of tickets. Most of the tickets were for music concerts, but there were also sporting event tickets and a few lift tickets from ski resorts. So I guess that says a lot about me; in my life I was mainly a spectator. I did play a lot of sports like city league softball, and hundreds of games of pick-up or work/school/social related volleyball, basketball, croquet, and golf; but no one would have ever paid to see me play.

There are still some Internet search results for the Love Israel cult including some video of their annual Garlic Fest. Basically they were a cult that started in Seattle Washington, and at their height they owned property and/or had communes in Washington, Alaska and Hawaii. There is a documentary called "It Takes a Cult. " They were semi-famous for having Steve Allen's son in the cult for awhile. I was a roadie for a band that played their Garlic fest in Arlington WA in 2003, and I went ahead of the band and volunteered to work the festival for a week. The Requisite Fish Story When my friend Tom and I went backpacking on Isle Royale we didn't bring a lot of food and even planned to catch fish for a few meals. We brought a lot of lures but didn't have leaders and we hooked a lot of northern pike but they broke free because of their sharp teeth. So we were fishing one of the inland lakes on the island, and I cast my lure and it wasn't a very good cast, it went more up in the air than out on the lake, and it made a really big splash, and I already had hooked a pike but when I got it near shore it broke free. My friend Tom had come over to help me land the fish since he had already lost a couple near shore. So I said "Wow, that was a big one, like 3 feet long". Tom said,  "No, more like 26 inches, maybe, at most."
